[Music] team bonding is often seen as overrated why do I need to get to know my team members personally why do I need to go out with leadership why would leadership ever go on a retreat it's just an expensive waste of money and I'm going to tell you that it's actually essential to leadership for a good leadership team to be strong they need to know each other personally they need to understand what motivates and drives one another and not just from General what what drives you questions but from understanding who they are and how they're built and how they came to be the person they are today and those types of conversations don't happen in the office they happen outside when you're doing an activity together and you learn something new about their competitiveness or a sport they did when they grew up or what they wanted to be when they were 10 years old um all of those conversations that happen when doing something more casual um really help team members and leaders bond with one another and really help create that connection that better understanding of motivation and drive that Propel a team a leadership team to another level um they function much more effectively uh together than they would without those conversations so next time you're about to do a team bonding activity don't go oh I got to spend some time with with my co-workers or my other fellow leaders uh get excited to get to know your fellow team members get curious how much can you learn in this one outing and how is that going to help you and your team be more effective and more united in the what you're doing um I will tell you team bonding leads to better results that better results and outcomes is what we're all here for but the better you understand each other the better you understand what motivates one another the better you understand what drives each individual the better results and outcomes you will [Music] have
