The feelings of burnout and overwhelm are so real right now. I hear it constantly from a lot of the CEOs and even leaders that I'm working with. I don't know, it's like there's something in the air. Um between balancing all the things happening in their personal lives as well as everything going on at work, trying to get all these initiatives done. Um it's just a lot to balance and prioritize. So, what are some things that you can do to solve if you're feeling burnout? Well, there's a lot of decisions that are typically unmade when you're feeling burnt out and overwhelmed. Um, how to spend your time, which things really are priority. Um, so first things, ask yourself, look at all the things you're doing, both personal and professional, because it's all a part of who you are and what's causing the overwhelm. And ask yourself the following questions. One, what can wait? Um, what should I actually be prioritizing that's having that highest impact right now? And what things should I just be parking loting? Like I you can get more done faster if you parking lot some things and go to them next than if you try to do them all at once. What are things that I'm doing that no longer even need to get done by anyone? It is often that we just keep doing things over and over again because they almost become habit because they're just a part of who we are and they served us at one point but they're no longer even serving us now. But we forget to be self-aware enough and analyze some of the behaviors and some of the actions we take regularly and the way we spend our time that don't need to. So look at your calendar and ask yourself, are all these things that I'm doing, do they even need to get done? You can also ask yourself, could and should they be done by someone else? That's the standard delegate and elevate concept, right? But I'm not going to focus on that today. That's for another video in another day. Additionally, self-care. often the thing that goes fastest when we're in the swirl, we take care of everybody else but ourselves. And the problem is once we start getting burnt out, we're not doing any of it well. So ask yourself, are you getting enough sleep? Are you fueling yourself with food? That's the one I would say I see people skip the most is the food. You're so busy going going you forget to stop to eat. Um, that's a huge one. So sleep and food are two basic factors we need. And when we're denying ourselves them in a healthy way, what ends up happening is our brains can't even handle the burnout um that we're feeling, we're more stressed and we're less productive and we can't make the decisions that are hard decisions and do the things that I stated before. So, if you're feeling burnt out, overwhelmed, fuel yourself first and then start looking at the decisions that need to get made. What no longer needs to be done? What's the highest impact things that should be done now? What are the things that need to be parking and what are the things that someone else should be doing and see if it can help at least slow down and minimize the overwhelm. [Music]
