Stop and Celebrate

[Music] stop and celebrate why do I say this because it's probably one of the things that most of the leaders I know do not do well um most leaders are so great at moving on to the next thing they accomplish something and they already have that idea to do whatever's next on their list or to bring about that new next new idea right um and so it's like great I'm there now move on to the next and they don't stop and pause and realize what they've accomplished uh the problem with this is twofold one it almost always feels overwhelming because you're always working towards something and never getting anywhere and so it's really hard to feel successful when you're always working to the next thing and you don't realize that you've actually accomplished a lot so just taking a moment it doesn't have to be long but to recognize what it is you just achieved D before you move on to the next thing can really help with a feeling of achievement and success we're all doing a lot and the opposite um creates a mindset of just not being successful we're not getting where we want to go never really being where you want to be um and missing the happiness and the success along the way um so stop pause and celebrate really important for yourself the second reason it's really important that is often overlooked is if we have the personality to tend to do that often we aren't stopping and celebrating the success as a team and as Leaders that's really detrimental to our team members if our head is already off on the next project um our team doesn't even realize the success of what they've accomplished or they feel like they are not good enough um because they just they they didn't get recognized for the part that they had already done so again if you have the personality where you don't stop and celebrate yourself there's a chance that even if you think you do a good job recognizing and celebrating your team you probably don't stop and pause long enough for them to really feel it and realize that they're recognized because you've moved on and therefore already given them tasks and assigned them to move on to the next project or the next idea um so stop pause and celebrate it's good for you and it's good for your team
