way too often in leadership roles we make assumptions about problems and form Solutions without asking the right questions and determining the facts and details behind it we see that someone's not working out well in a role or um see something that needs to get done and rather than trying to figure out the what and the why behind what's happening we provide the solution or jump to a concl usion it's really important to ask the questions if someone's struggling in their role it could be for so many different reasons it may not be that they're not capable it may be that they don't have the proper resources it may be that they're missing training it may be that they hate what they're doing and it is the wrong role it may be that they love what they're doing and need some skill sets it could be that there's pieces of their role that somebody else should be doing or other aspects and reality is until we ask the right questions and really understand the problem from the person's perspective making assumptions and determining what needs to happen next um could mean we miss out on the really the wrong question the wrong problem and then create the wrong solution so it's really important especially when you're dealing with matters around people um that you ask the questions you learn the what what is really happening what are the facts what are the details why is this the case and then from there you can make the decisions just make sure you have all the data first [Music]
