[Music] thank you all ideas we haven't come up with on our own are inherently biased why because any decision we make or idea we come up with comes from our own set of experiences and only our own set of experiences our knowledge is capped by the experiences we had we only know what we know and we may know a lot it may be you know someone who has been very worldly traveled the world experienced a whole lot of things but we still only know what we know so how do you make better decisions when you only know what you know you seek outside perspectives when you are thinking to make a decision it can be personal can be professional it could be towards your business goals or other you know by just having a conversation with someone who does not have the same experience as you who has a different set of experiences you can expand that idea greatly you can tweak it you can think through it differently and the nuances of it and the idea will be a better one or the decision will be a better one by Nature even if you land in the exact place you would have landed originally without the conversation the decision is just the exact same one you know it's a better decision because you landed there by questioning your decision by seeking additional feedback or inputs to make sure it was the best decision and so it is a better decision by Nature even if it was the same one because you know it um but chances are you're not going to make the exact same decision you had in the first place or even follow through with the same idea you had it will be tweaked there will be nuances and that's because when you seek outside perspectives you learn things if you if you seek to learn if you seek outside perspectives and stick with your guns and your gut then you're probably not going to grow but if you really want to learn what someone with a different experience thinks about your idea or how they view the decision you have to make and can ask you really good questions about it or give you a different perspective then it's going to probably shift you'll think about things from a different angle and make a slightly different decision than you would have made in the first place and that is a better decision because now you don't only know what you know but you know what you know and that other person knows and even better not putting a plug for my peer groups but if you go to a group of friends or go to a CEO peer group or a leadership peer group you get lots of perspectives and experiences and those decisions are even better decisions than the one where you seek out a perspective from one person because the more knowledge you have at the table when making a decision the more you're even that knowledge will still be capped but the more knowledge that's in the pool the better the idea the better the decision so seek outside perspectives whether it's asking a friend and calling someone up or it's joining a peer group put yourself in an environment where you are not capped by your knowledge but you're capped by a larger sect of knowledge Anna make better decisions [Music]
