Outgrow Tip #7: Embrace the word "No

Continuing my series on how to increase your revenue predictably in 2026 using the Outgrow methodology, here's tip seven. Embrace the word no. We all hate the word no. Nobody likes it because we all feel rejection, and that's what no is. It is someone saying no to you, right? But the word no is actually not no to you. It's just not yet and not now, and that's okay. And if you can consider and reframe the word no to mean not yet or not now, it's not the time, then it opens up a whole new world to you. The reality is we don't ask the question on what we can do or can we have the order because we're afraid of the no, but we also don't get the yes then. Because if we don't ask the question because we're afraid to hear no, then we also miss out on all the yeses. Statistically, it takes nine nos to get to a yes, which means we've got to hear nine of those not yet, not nows in order to get to the yes, yes, please, give me that today, or help me with that now. So, it's really important to hear the nos. Each no you get gets you one step closer to that next yes. So, celebrate each no. Be grateful for each no. Reframe them as not yet. Don't give up on the people that said no to you. Call them back later because they probably will need you down the road. It's just not today. And uh get excited because they make you one step closer to that next yes, and that yes is where you are going to help someone. And if you didn't ask the question, you wouldn't be able to be put in a position to help them. So, go for the no. It's the only way to get to the yes. >> [music]
