Spring is here and aside from the awesome weather, I love March Madness, I want to think about sports as it relates to business. And legendary basketball coach John Wooden always says, "Failing to prepare is preparing to fail." It's all about strategic planning. And strategic planning helps companies be more efficient in many areas, including time, money, and results. And did you know that Wooden took more time to plan his practices than the practices took themselves? So, let's talk about a few different ways. I have a great article I'm going to share this week about strategic planning. One, commit strategic planning to paper. No more than two pages necessary. Two, keep it simple. Number three is curate a conducive planning environment. Number four, make sure that you have the necessary resources in place to execute on the plan. Five, ensure the right team is in place to implement all of the plan. Six, be bold about the objectives. It takes true leadership to think big and to really be bold in achieving your goals. And finally, none of this matters if you don't know the score. So, you have to determine the KPIs to stay on track.
