How to reduce feeling anxious about job security in times of economic uncertainty
This week I want to talk about a topic that I'm hearing in a lot of conversations I'm having around tariffs and making decisions and just the land the business landscape. A colleague of mine, someone who is extremely inspiring to me, Jay McDonald is a contributor of the article from Forbes and it's around four ways to save your job from threats of layoffs. And in it, there's about four tips that are shared that can be helpful for you in your company as well as maybe for your staff if you're sensing discord or uncertainty or just anxiety around what's happening. So one you can there's always an abundant mindset around fear. You can look at it two different ways from a place of scarcity or we can find one way to look at something from abundance. And one tip is enhancing efficiency. Help your team and your employees actively seek ways to improve processes and reduce costs within your organization. Therefore, they're demonstrating their value and contributing to its financial health. Another way is just staying proactive, engaging in continuous learning and skill development to adapt to industry changes, positioning yourself or helping your team position themselves as a versatile and indispensable team member. The third way is maintain visibility. Ensure your presence is felt within the company, especially in remote settings, which many people are right now. And help them by participating in key projects and communications to stay top of mind during critical decisions. And finally, diversify skills. We all can do that. Expand your expertise beyond roles susceptible to automation by acquiring new competencies, therefore increasing your adaptability and job security. So, if you're feeling if you're a leader and you're feeling an anxiety around what's happening, this would be a great conversation to have. It's a great article to share and I thought there were some really good nuggets that I thought would be helpful based on the conversations I'm having.
