Habits, Not Resolutions: The Formula for Lasting Change

New Year's resolutions are a really big thing right now Hot Topic some people's last into mid January some early February but they often Don't Last by the nature of what a resolution is a resolution is I resolve because I feel like I should do something different than I was doing it's not really looking at setting a goal or trying to change a habit in your life even though people sometimes make it out that way because if you're just setting as a resolution you're saying I am going to do something different um versus really thinking about the why and the motivation behind something if you really explore why you want to create a new pattern for yourself and then you figure out ways to set up that pattern in your life and like James Clear anomic habit says habit stack and ritualize it then that is how you change behaviors but just resolving to do something doesn't get very many people very far which is why by February most New Year's resolutions have never come to fruition or they' fallen off the bandwagon so don't resolve to do something figure out why you want to do it the purpose behind it and work on changing your behavior so that becomes a part of who you are rather than something you resolve to do [Music]
