Confidence Comes From Within

confidence doesn't come from the outside it comes from within a lot of people I know feel like they get their Confidence from external validation they need praise to know that they've done a good job and to feel good about themselves and that praise has to come from somewhere else they seek feedback to know that they've done a good job um we all do that that's natural and normal as humans to want to know from someone else that we've done good the part that um doesn't help build confidence though is if you only rely on external feedback to feel good about what you've done you have to just get more and more external feedback um to validate what you're doing and it doesn't actually build internal confidence confidence comes from feeling good about what you've done and being proud of yourself so next time you seek to go ask how did I do on that before you go get validation elsewhere ask yourself how did it feel what did it feel like when I accomplished X um it's not a bad thing to get feedback and to touch base and make sure you're on target with the things you're doing but doing it to improve and gaining feedback for that reason is helpful to you doing it just to get external validation um instead of working to internally validate the great things you're doing and accomplishing yourself that is something that honestly actually hurts you as a leader because you are not confident and others can see that your confidence comes from inside so make sure that you're also internally validating the great things that you're doing that you're accomplishing that you're stopping and pausing and noticing that and that it's coming from you be proud of yourself because you are great it sounds cheesy but it's true we all have to remember to tell ourselves that we're all accomplishing great things
