Combative or Collaborative

[Music] sales and operations in any company depend upon one another you can have lots of sales and no one to fulfill them and you don't continue having those sales you can have great quality delivery operations and not have many sales and well you're not selling anything and you're not servicing any customers um the two functions are critical to support one another in organization and yet often those two organizations are at complete odds um they see them as competitive with one another they are usually um often combative versus collaborative and the companies that I have seen um be the most effective the leadership across those organizations is collaborative and problem solving versus combative um it's not sales saying operations didn't get it out the door you know I messed it up with my customer or operations saying sales didn't do a good job of bringing the parts or descriptions in in the first place um those are things you hear a lot it's more sitting down together figuring out what's the right process up front to make sure that sales gets the information needed for operations to be successful that operations understands what sales needs and the customers needs um them to do differently than they might otherwise to be successful true success comes from that collaboration and that partnership between all the organizations in a company not just sales and operations but um traditionally in many companies you see those areas um point fingers versus sit down and ideate and find Solutions um generate new ideas together on where the company can go Vision together and the more those organizations partner and vision the future together and build it together the more successful a company will be so thought for the day is how can you get the different areas of your organization to be more collaborate collaborative um versus combative um because that will lead to Greater [Music] success
