Built for More: You Already Know

From the outside looking in, it's only three words. Built for more. But from where I sit, those three words, they represent my life story. Less than 2 months into my freshman year, I had my first severe episode of bipolar disorder. A doctor looked my parents in the eye and told them I'd probably never graduate from college or amount to anything. It was devastating. How is it possible that their beautiful, intelligent daughter, who graduated high school with honors, could be written off with one diagnosis? I was 19 and my life came crashing down. The depression was so deep, I wanted to end my life more than once. But my mom and dad, they refused to accept that verdict. They saw more in me. They searched everywhere for answers. They went to doctor after doctor, treatment center after treatment center. And eventually it worked. I not only went back to school, but I graduated and earned my law degree with honors. And I learned something that no outside diagnosis could define. There's no force more powerful than someone who helps you see what else is possible. My drive came back with this deep pull for something greater in my life. I stopped trying to fit inside the life I'd been given and worked to build something bigger. I became a CEO. I sat in rooms with other high performing leaders and I noticed something. That same pull I felt in myself. The best leaders, they never stop feeling it. Most people, they settle when things are working. Those leaders, they don't. They start asking new and different questions. I know my brain is wired for expansion. And I see the same mindset in the leaders that I'm honored to work with and more. It isn't about more money. It's about more impact. It's about helping more people. It's about creating more freedom that allows you to give back in a bigger way. I love working with driven leaders who are building something, who won't settle for where they are, but challenge themselves and choose to be challenged. This is where you bring the version of your business that you know is possible and get pushed to build it. Because no matter what someone once told you, once you see it, you can't unknow it. And if you felt that pull, then you already know you are built for more.
