[Music] ask for what you need and encourage others to ask for what they need this sounds probably kind of silly because how obvious is that but many people I know in business and in life don't actually ask for what they're needing they hope someone will figure it out and give it to them but they're afraid to burden a peer A co-worker a Boss by asking or a loved one by asking and the reality is no one knows you need it unless you tell them you need something by asking you Empower them to actually give you a gift and to help you with whatever it is you need without you're just hoping that they can figure it out on their own and probably breeding resentment when they don't which most people are not mind readers so they don't um it's also important to encourage your people to ask for what they need because just like you who doesn't ask for what you need most often neither do they and the problem is if they're not asking you and you're not a good mind reader either then you're not doing the best you can to support them and helping them be the best person um employee partner right that they can be so it's really critical that you encourage them to ask for what they need and the best way to encourage someone to step up and ask you for what they need is to model the behavior yourself so if you're a good communicator at asking for what you need then others are likely to also ask you for what they need so circles right back around to you model the behavior ask for what you need people are not mind readers and in being good at that you're going to demonstrate for others that they should ask you for what they need because you're not a mind reader either and that way they can get their needs met you can really support them in the best way possible and you can all Do Better Together so rather than mind read just ask use words trust me you can't figure it out without them most of the time [Music] thank you [Music]
