patrick dixon says take hold of the future for the future will take hold of you i'm a firm believer in this concept if you are proactively planning for the future thinking ahead what's the world gonna look like three five years from now and innovating and really changing your business to adjust for that asking the right questions you're gonna thrive as these changes come in occur but those who are really living just in the day to day and improving their businesses for tomorrow when those changes occur the future is going to happen to them they're not going to be a part of creating it and companies that let the future just happen to them a lot of times aren't prepared and they can't take the shifts and the major changes and disruptions on society and so during recessions or disruptions they go out of business or they really really struggle is your business one that's going to struggle or do you want to future proof your business by asking the right questions now so here are some concepts to be thinking about if these aren't on your mind you should be doing your research and starting to pay attention the metaverse how is that going to affect your business how are you going to advertise in the metaverse down the road what's that going to mean for your company are you going to exist in the metaverse or just in the physical reality blockchain blockchain technologies how are they changing now how are they already in your business and how are they going to be in your business three years from now self-driving vehicles when self-driving vehicles are fully up and running and there's no longer drivers for uber and lyft and door dash and these other things what is that going to do to the workforce the university system as degree programs go away or no longer the primary because the university system has to change to adjust to the changing needs of our workforce what's that going to look like and how is it going to feed your workforce differently than it does today how will training and education look how will technologies change and differ i am only naming a very small subset of things that are coming our way that many businesses are not spending a lot of time talking about or thinking about and a lot of them are much more here than you realize and if you don't start asking those questions today you may be too late to future-proof your business and to take hold of the future rather than letting it take a hold of you [Music]
